ABOUT THE EXPERIMENT
We invite you to take part in our experiment

UrbanDNA Project is an art-science collaboration inspired by Felipe Ehrenberg's psychogeography artwork,
“A Stroll in July", and the common scientific practice of introducing mutations to the genome of lab animals as a method to understand the functions of genes. With this project our aim is to use an alternative approach to understand how genetics can influence the branching patterns of neurons.
The piece is made with the contribution of participants and will be shaped by the decision making of each individual. In the same way that the scientist does not have control over the outcome of an experiment, the organizers do not have control over the results of this piece.

We hope this activity will help participants find a new appreciation for the discomfort we impose on lab animals when we introduce mutations in their genomes in the name of research. We also aim to help you reconnect with the city you call home by putting a twist on your everyday routine, perhaps revealing to you forgotten and discarded aspects of it.
